[Maybe it was stupid to go "fuck it" and run away from his mother's house last month, but frankly Kunikaki cannot be bothered to think it was stupid. He is seventeen and absolutely fucking tired of his mother's bullshit and his sister's somehow worse bullshit. (He gets it, he understands that his mother never recovered from her sister's death, but he doesn't have to deal with it anymore.) So yeah, he ran away.

And now he's pretty sure some freak is following him as he winds his way through the city, trying to escape the fucker, but whatever. He'll make do.]

[Heizou seats himself on the floor, across from Kuni so they're facing each other. He just grins a little at the comment, amused.]

I can when I feel like it! I just don't often feel like it~

[He carefully nudges Heizou with a foot.]

Eat healthier.

[He nudges back, still grinning.]

Why should I?

Because you should? And it usually tastes better?

Is that right? But nothing beats some good fried food~

[Kunikaki ends up staying for some time, not even closed to being healed by the time it's time for Heizou to go off and get beat to shit. He waves Heizou off with a promise to take it easy and a threat of healthy food when he gets back.

He'd never admit it, but he likes Heizou. He's a nice guy, and not intolerable. This monthly "go get beat to shit" thing is...troublesome.]

[It's... nice, having company in his home. It's new, since most people tend to avoid Heizou in his off hours, but he really doesn't mind coming back at the end of the day to find Kuni reading his books. And honestly, that only strengthens his resolve to track down who went and attacked Kuni that night. If Heizou stopped to think about it, there's definitely some territorial werewolf instinct that's prompting this. But he hasn't, so here he is.

The night isn't even over when Kuni hears some loud noises from outside one of the windows. Like some kind of large animal trying to break in, banging and scratching at the exterior walls and glass.]

[He had been asleep on Heizou's bed, but that went out the window when the noises started up. After scrambling to keep himself from falling over in shock, Kuni grabs the metal pipe he keeps handy around Heizou's place and peeks out the window.]

[A peek out the window will get him a view of what looks like a very large dog, snuffing around and digging up dirt at the bottom of the wall. And the moment Kuni so much as touches the glass of the window, the creature's head whips up, bright, intense green eyes focusing on the face in the window.

And there's a soft, low growl.]

[Ah, a dog. Kuni rolls his eyes and opens the window a bit.]

Shoo.

[book2thehead]

[The "dog"'s growl gets louder, eyes locked on Kuni as it starts moving toward the window, all of its fur seeming to stand up on end. As it gets closer and closer, Kuni will see that it's much, much larger than a dog. It's nearly the size of a human on all fours.

Then it leaps forward, all but jumping into the apartment through the window whether Kuni is in the way or not.]

[And down Kuni goes, hitting the ground with a loud yelp of pain.]

Fuck shit ow--stupid mutt! Get out!

[It does not get out. Instead it starts tearing around the apartment, all vicious growls and snarls as it knocks wildly into various pieces of furniture. The creature just seems like it's feral, constantly on the move no matter what gets broken in its wake. It keeps sniffing and huffing as well, as if searching for something or irritated by something that it just can't figure out.

Eventually it scrambles onto the bed and faces Kuni with another dangerous, angry growl. Finally staying put long enough for Kuni to maybe notice blood matted into its fur, most visibly around its snout.]

[Kuni can't get to his feet fast enough to stop the dog from breaking shit, but he can get his phone out to take a photo so when Heizou returns he knows he isn't lying about the feral mutt that broke into his apartment.

Finally, the dog stops and gets up on the bed, growling, and Kuni can see the blood.]

Get down, you stupid dog, and sit! I'll clean your muzzle if you behave.

[He is not stupid, okay. He is not going to try and get this dog out of the apartment.]

[The growling just gets louder, the creature hunkering further down onto the bed like it has no intention of moving further. But its eyes stay locked on Kuni, almost as though daring him to move closer.]

Tch. Fine.

[Kuni stands, still holding the pipe, and goes into the kitchen to get warm water and a washcloth. He can't just let the dog be dirty like this, okay?

He comes back, stopping about halfway to the dog.]

Let me clean you up.

[It watches Kuni very carefully the whole time, and the growling does eventually get much, much softer. Goodness, those green eyes do look intelligent though, don't they?

In response to Kuni's demand, the creature just ducks its head slightly, sniffing almost suspiciously in Kuni's direction. Friend or foe??]

[Awfully intelligent for a dog.

Anyway.

He steps a little closer.]

I won't hurt you. You're just getting blood all over Heizou's bed.

[book2thehead]

[It doesn't move. Just stares and stares.

...And then maybe lowers its head enough to lay that bloody muzzle right onto the blankets.]

[Kuni swears and just makes his way over to the dog, slow and careful but determined.]

Really? Really. Damn dog...

[book2thehead]

[Watching... Watching...

And Kuni can probably see the way it keeps sniffing in his direction.]

[He can, and he's taking that as a good thing for now. He kneels down in front of the dog, letting him get a good sniff.]

[Now that Kuni's much closer, it raises its head again to really start smelling at him in earnest. Just shoving his snout right up against his hands and arms (probably spreading more blood around).

And finally, the growling stops completely.]

[Kuni lets this happen. At least the blood isn't too fresh?

But once the dog stops growling, Kuni takes his chance to start cleaning the dog's muzzle.]

What the hell did you get into?

[It's not... too fresh. A few hours, maybe.

The creature allows the cleaning, whining just a little bit when Kuni swipes over a tender spot. There are no cuts on its snout, so all the blood is... something else's.]
